For the past five years, I’ve been studying sacred texts — primarily the Christian Bible — from a non-Christian point of view.
But my journey with the Bible goes much further back.
I was a fundamentalist Christian for over 20 years. I took the Bible literally — word for word, without question. It shaped how I saw the world, how I lived, and what I believed.
Then, about ten years ago, something shifted.
I realized I no longer believed in the same way. My questions deepened, and the answers I had been given no longer satisfied. What followed was a period of honest searching — not to tear anything down, but to see more clearly.
This website, Sacred Scholar, is the space where I now share what I’m learning.
My goal isn’t to cause doubt or challenge anyone’s personal faith. I’m not here to debate or deconstruct for the sake of it.
I just want to understand — and help others think more deeply and roundly about these texts.
If you’re curious about the Bible or other sacred writings, but want to explore them outside of traditional doctrine, you’re in the right place. Whether you’re coming from a place of belief, doubt, or just deep curiosity — welcome.
Let’s study with open eyes and open minds.
